When it comes to popular excavators in construction, the Hitachi ZX350H-5G definitely counts as one – its performance is really top-notch. This machine weighs 34,000 kilograms in total, has super powerful engine, and can handle even the most complicated jobs on the construction site steadily. Talking about its actual working performance, its slewing speed can reach 10.7 revolutions per minute, so adjusting the direction and angle is really fast and flexible. It’s also easy to move around – it can go up to 5 km/h in high gear and 3.2 km/h in low gear, making it smooth to move around the construction site and switch between different working areas. Even steep slopes aren’t a problem for it – its climbing ability can reach 70%, and the ground pressure is 65 kPa, so it stays stable even when working on bumpy terrain. Besides, its digging force is strong too – the bucket digging force ranges from 214 to 246 kilonewtons, and the arm digging force is between 213 and 222 kilonewtons. Whether it’s digging soil or stones, it handles it with no trouble at all.

Its power system is also a big highlight. It’s equipped with an Isuzu GH-6HK1X engine, which has 6 cylinders. It’s a 4-stroke, water-cooled, direct-injection engine, plus turbocharging and intercooling. Not only does it deliver stable power output, but it’s also really fuel-efficient – it uses 5% less fuel than ordinary machines, and at the same time, it emits less carbon dioxide. What’s more, the manufacturer also took durability and ease of maintenance into account when designing it. For example, the engine’s cooling system – the air intake area of the engine cover is made wider, and the radiators are arranged in parallel. This not only makes heat dissipation fast but also makes cleaning easy, which ensures the machine can work steadily for a long time.

Its hydraulic system is excellent too. The main pumps consist of two variable displacement axial piston pumps and one gear pump, with a maximum flow rate of 2×288 liters per minute. It uses one axial piston motor for slewing and two variable displacement axial piston motors for traveling. Moreover, the hydraulic pressure is sufficient – the working hydraulic circuit pressure can reach 34.3 MPa, the slewing hydraulic circuit pressure is 32.4 MPa, and the control hydraulic circuit pressure is 38.0 MPa. So whether it’s digging, lifting or unloading, all the movements are really smooth and efficient. This also shows that Hitachi truly has strong capabilities in hydraulic technology.
